Sports Injury Treatment in Moon Twp., PA: If you’re an athlete, you understand the numerous demands of participating in a sport. Putting your body through these activities, such as running, jumping or tackling, can result in painful tears, sprains and strains. Seeing a chiropractor can help you heal faster when you’ve suffered sports injuries and helps to prevent them.
Sports Injuries Can Limit Your Performance and Cause Pain
The main reasons athletes suffer sports injuries include forceful impacts, repetitive motions, over-training and failure to warm up properly. This can happen in countless ways, depending on what activity you are doing or what sport you are playing in. As an active person, it is important for you to take precautionary measures, but sometimes injuries happen. Often these conditions are a result of injuries suffered years or even decades ago that did not heal properly.
Children and teens tend to ignore what seem to be small injuries when they are active. But if an injury is left untreated, this can lead to chronic pain in other areas, that may not even be directly related to the focal point of the injury, such the knees, hips, back and neck. Many sports injuries are insufficiently treated and allowed to rest and heal, increasing the odds that they will cause chronic pain later in life. This can lead to pain, frustration and decrease your athletic abilities.
Sports or training injuries can cause the following symptoms:
- Burning, dull pain
- Muscle Pains
- Muscle Spasms
Sports Injuries can Cause Further Injuries if Not Treated
Chiropractors can help athletes by relieving their pain and helping them heal faster after an injury. Many athletes try to mask pain with medication, but this can lead to further risk and damage to the body. At Weinstein Chiropractic Center, our trained staff will perform a full evaluation. We will construct a treatment plan to get you feeling your best and back to doing what you love.
Although many people think that chiropractic is solely limited to the spine, chiropractors treat and can help prevent injuries of the neck, back, shoulders, knees, ankles and more. When the spine is perfectly aligned, this alleviates tension in the body, decreases inflammation and allows the nervous system to function optimally.
When the spine is aligned, vital nutrients and water can travel throughout the body easily. It can also increase the immune system, which is ideal for anyone with a busy and active lifestyle. This allows the body to function better and become less susceptible to injury. If you’re experiencing pain from a sports injury, consider seeing a chiropractor. You may want to schedule regular check-ups to prevent injuries and to keep your body performing properly.

Such wonderful care, every visit! I started coming here for adjustments during my pregnancy. My back and sciatic nerve pain were unbearable. I literally could barely walk when I first came in. If it weren’t for Drs. Kristal, Gary, & Curtis, & I don’t know how I would have made it through the pregnancy without being confined to bedrest. Thank you all for such great continued care!
I have a major back anomaly and am avoiding surgery by going to Weinstein Chiropractic. Thank goodness my daughter found them through Groupon! Dr. Kristal knows how to realign not only my spine, but is also working on my ligaments and muscles. I can now walk on the treadmill and ride a bike, which is something I wasn’t able to do a year ago. Thank goodness for these dedicated docs!
I was experiencing excruciating pain in my lower back which was radiating down my legs. This was after having surgery that was supposed to relieve my pain and suffering. Often the only way I could get relief was to lie flat on my back on the floor. I began to think about going to see Dr. Weinstein, since a friend had highly recommended him to me. Unfortunately, I had an irrational fear and distrust of chiropractors.
When I finally overcame my fear and reluctance and decided to see Dr. Weinstein, I was very nervous. However, his calm demeanor and caring manner soon put me at ease. What was really amazing about my first visit with Dr. Weinstein was how much time he and his staff spent with me. They took a thorough and complete medical history, asked lots of questions about my health problems and gave me a very thorough exam both hands on and with diagnostic equipment.
I have to admit that I was very scared when Dr. Weinstein first adjusted me. I did not even want to allow him to adjust my cervical spine because of a congenital condition I have which involves my brain and cervical spine. Dr. Weinstein told me that if I let him adjust me on a regular basis, I would no longer need to take the medication that I was then taking for my condition. I politely listened to him but did not believe him. At the time, I was taking four pills a day. After treating with Dr. Weinstein on a regular basis, I quit taking that medication entirely.
I have now been treating with Dr. Weinstein for over ten years. To say that Dr. Weinstein has helped me would be a tremendous understatement. He has helped me work through the pain of auto accidents and the pains and strains that come when you are over 60 years old and shovel too much snow, or lift too much weight. Thanks to Dr. Weinstein, I now work out at the gym, ride bike trails and I am able to sit at my desk at work for hours when the need arises.
Go see Dr. Weinstein. Get adjusted. All you have to lose is your pain.
